About Suzy

Best-selling author Suzy Henderson lives in the 1940s in a rural corner of Cumbria, writing historical fiction. She also writes contemporary romance, although her heart lies in the past. Her characters are fearless, often flying aircraft, but in real life, Suzy is afraid of heights and of flying. She’ll probably never take that ride in a Lancaster Bomber or a B-17 that features on her bucket list above the steam train ride over the famous Glenfinnan Viaduct—or will she?

Her first novel, The Beauty Shop, was awarded the B.R.A.G. Medallion and was inspired by the true story of the RAF Guinea Pig Club and Sir Archibald McIndoe. Her second novel, Madame Fiocca, is based on the real-life exploits of SOE heroine, Nancy Wake. In 2021 she released Christmas in the Highlands, a contemporary romance.

When she’s not writing, she can be found wandering around the lakes and fells in Cumbria, with her family and trusty Labrador.
